The future is in the past
I get the same frustrations as many people. Information is harder to find online due to SEO driving empty articles. Some now writen by algorithm. Constant pop ups if you mouse off a page or auto play videos following you as you scroll.
Back when I had a Bebo page I could arrange elements in my page and and make my own skin or use someone elses. I had one with Gollum that said "SEXY". Now I have a twitter page where I can have a header image. It's not the same.
When I read old documents from the start of public access to the web they can be very utopian. Free flow and access of information. We got that but also other things. No idea if it is posible to make that future but I'll take the hope and desire to experiment.
